SUKABUMIUPDATE.com – Diamond Rain is a common occurrence on the planets Uranus and Neptune. These two planets have different compositions from other planets in the solar system namely water, methane and ammonia.
Experts used to refer to these molecules as “ice” and to rain “diamonds” on the inside of the planet.
Both icy planets likely have rocky cores surrounded by other elements.
Unfortunately, knowledge about Uranus and Neptune is very limited because the last mission to explore the two planets was done three decades ago by Voyager 2.
Experts are trying to understand the two planets by combining data taken by Voyager 2, along with laboratory experiments that replicate the conditions of the planet’s interior.
The mathematical modeling created helps astronomers understand what happens in certain situations based on limited data.
