PlayStation Classic on trial
Sony PlayStation 4 500 at the best price
It will only be available on December 3rd in stores, but the PlayStation Classic it has already passed into the hands of some specialized journalists. In fact, Sony has invited some lucky ones to try for a few hours his future mini-console, which will come with two controllers and a total of 20 games.
The opportunity to discover the latest secrets surrounding the 1994 console replica, and in particular its interface, backup management, or the way games are played on different discs at the moment.
Therefore, as for its interface, in addition to the PlayStation brand logo (slightly redesigned), the PlayStation Classic will offer a fairly simple user experience, with a strict menu of limits. By rummaging through the options, we can pass the interface in French, but no trace of scan lines, filters or even backgrounds to hide the edges … You can not change the format or resolution and the PlayStation Classic will then be set only on 720p.
Regarding the backup system, like the PS2 in time, the PlayStation Classic will manage the virtual memory cards. We will find the well-known block system of the time, to which will be added a rapid backup system (such as the Super Nintendo Classic Mini) that will record progress at the exact moment when the game was left.
To return to the interface and change the game, simply press the Restore button on the console. For games that are currently on multiple CD-ROMs (like Final Fantasy VII), you need to press the Eject button when prompted on the screen. As for the joysticks, the first impressions are quite good, and we find this feeling so characteristic, with a very acceptable length of the bonus cable. Note that these are first-generation controllers, without analog sticks and vibrations (which will inevitably bring a small problem to Metal Gear Solid when comparing with Psycho Mantis …).
A classic of PlayStation that will be offered in stores at a price of 99 euros in a few weeks. Note however that currently, it seems that most of the included games are offered in English, without the possibility of changing them in French. A point that could cause concern to some players, who will therefore have difficulty in fully exploiting Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid or even Resident Evil Director & # 39; s Cut, which require a minimum of reading.
