Poroshenko accepted Zelensky's challenge to pass the tests before the debate in Kiev
The current president of the Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, accepted the offer of the winner of the first round of presidential elections, Vladimir Zelensky, to hold a debate at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, and agreed to take tests for the use of alcohol and drugs. About this at a press conference that was broadcast on the "Direct" channel, said the representative of the election headquarters Poroshenko Oleg Medvedev.
According to him, on the morning of April 5, Poroshenko will wait for Zelensky in the "Olympic" medical center to pass all the necessary tests. Medvedev noted that an independent examination should be conducted by certified laboratories, as its results are important to voters.
Zelensky's headquarters proposed to Poroshenko to hold a debate at the Olimpiysky stadium and made a series of requests. In particular, Zelensky proposed to pass the alcohol and drug tests before the start of the debate, in addition to giving all television channels the opportunity to broadcast the debate live. Furthermore, Zelensky invited Poroshenko to apologize for insulting him, giving the president 24 hours to reflect.
The presidential elections were held in Ukraine on March 31st. The first round did not reveal the winner, as none of the 39 candidates won more than 50% of the votes. In the second round passed Zelensky, who collected 30.24%, and Poroshenko with 15.95% of the votes. The CEC has appointed a second round on April 21st.
