Amazon has announced a health platform composed of a subscription service and one smart bracelet that works through a mobile application from which you can perform a three-dimensional scan of the body to detect body fat.
Amazon Halo is the proposal of the ‘eCommerce’ in the sector of devices to monitor health. The activity bracelet, contrary to the most common proposals on the market, it has no screen, to avoid constant notifications that can be distracting.
But it includes among its features an optical sensor for heart rate, a temperature sensor, an accelerometer and two microphones, as the company reports in its official Web.
The Halo bracelet battery offers a autonomy of up to seven days, and water resistance, being able to submerge up to 50 meters deep. The battery has magnetic charge and it loads completely in an hour and a half.
The bracelet is linked to an application, which brings a series of functions that are not seen in other similar devices. In this sense, it takes advantage of the mobile camera to scan the user’s body and generate a three-dimensional model showing the percentage of body fat.
Another function takes advantage of the microphones to detect mood from the voice captures he takes at different times of the day. This is a feature that can be disabled and has a button for it.
Device and application are complemented by a subscription service, where all the data collected by the bracelet is collected. It also records sleep and physical activity.
Halo is available in early access in the United States starting this Thursday, and is priced at $ 99.99.
