“It’s something big, big, very dangerous. You have to stay away,” stressed the governor Ron Desantis. Florida authorities have ordered the evacuation of nearly two million people, residents of 28 of its 67 counties.
Located in the subtropical zone of the Atlantic, Florida is prone to receiving these powerful hurricanes. Its inhabitants still remember the violence of Hurricane Ian, which flooded its coasts last year and claimed the lives of 156 people.
In Cuba, the government met urgently to analyze the damage caused to electricity and agriculture by Idalia. More than 100,000 homes without electricity and a good number of schools affected when there are only a few days left before the start of the school year.
