PPKM Revoked, Covid-19 Task Force Affirms “Booster” Remains a Travel Requirement

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Task Force (Satgas) Handling Covid-19 still require the third dose of vaccine (booster) as travel conditions remotely despite the imposition of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) is repealed.

Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, said that his party had not revoked the rules regarding travel requirements as contained in SE Number 24 of 2022 concerning Provisions for Domestic Travel during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The revocation of PPKM is contained in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 53 of 2022, which replaces or revokes the Inmendagri Number 50 of 2022 and Number 51 of 2022.

“At this time, only the PPKM regulations have been revoked (Ministry of Home Affairs 50/2022 and 51/2022) and replaced with Minister of Home Affairs No 53/2022 concerning Prevention and Control of Covid 19 during the Transition to Endemic,” said Wiku when contacted. Kompas.comMonday (2/1/2023).

Wiku revealed, vaccines booster as a condition of travel following the current regulations.

Therefore, Wiku asked the public to implement this policy properly. Likewise asking the public to remain careful and vigilant against the transmission of Covid-19.

“Other regulations remain the same. Let’s implement them. Hopefully conditions will improve and socio-economic activities can run safely from Covid-19,” he said.

SE Number 24 of 2022 stipulates that everyone who travels by private or public vehicle is responsible for their own health, and is subject to and complies with the terms and conditions that apply.

Every traveler must use the PeduliLindungi application as a condition for traveling within the country.

Travelers aged 18 years and over must have received vaccinations booster (third). Meanwhile, travelers aged 6-17 years must receive the vaccine up to the second dose.

Meanwhile, travelers with the status of foreign nationals originating from overseas trips aged 18 years and over are required to get the second vaccine, and ages 6-17 years are exempt from the mandatory vaccination.

Furthermore, those under 6 years of age are exempt from the vaccination requirements. However, they are required to travel with a companion who has met the Covid-19 vaccination requirements.

As for travelers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases who cannot receive vaccinations, they must attach a doctor’s statement from a government hospital stating that they cannot take the Covid-19 vaccination.
