Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, a medical graduate, will work for the health service once a week during the epidemic of the new coronavirus, a government spokesman announced on Sunday.
Dr. Varadkar “offered his services to the Health Service Executive (HSE) for one session per week in the areas that fall within his field of activity“.
He wanted to help, even modestly
According to’Irish Time, Leo Varadkar, who graduated from Trinity University Dublin in 2003 with a medical degree, is to focus on patient symptom assessment over the phone.

In March, at the start of the Covid-19 epidemic in Ireland, the HSE called for the return of qualified health professionals who are no longer currently employed in the sector. Over 60,000 people answered the call.
According to the latest figures from the Department of Health released on Sunday, there have been 158 Covid-19-related deaths out of 4,994 confirmed cases across the Republic of Ireland.
