The leaders of the inaugural Donald Trump committee who organized the settlement in January 2017 have been ordered to hand over all the documents on the donors and financiers of the event to the Manhattan federal prosecutor. In particular, all the cards relating to the activities and participants of the Inauguration Day are requested, including contracts with suppliers, tickets and even photographs with the president. The subpoena was delivered on the eve of the state of the Union speech that Trump will hold tonight.
The federal investigators would be particularly interested in whether the committee received illegal donations from foreign entities or subjects, but even if the staff of the president-elect was aware of any donations that do not comply with federal law. Law prohibiting foreign contributions to electoral campaigns, political action committees and inaugural funds. A spokesman for the commission mentioned in the Prosecutor's Office assured the utmost cooperation.
