A patrol from the PSP Police Station in Elvas was received hostile when responding to an incident due to noise, at about 12:30 am this Sunday, in the city of Elvas. In a statement, the District Command of Portalegre of the PSP informs that the agents were alerted to a possible party on the spot.
When they arrived at the scene, “the police elements were immediately threatened with the throwing of stones and glass bottles, in a totally hostile attitude towards the police, by a group of about 15 to 20 people”.
“The sound of two gunshots was also perfectly audible, having been fired from inside the place where the party was taking place”, adds the statement, revealing that police reinforcements were requested.
The agents tried to talk to the owner of the place where the party was held, “in order to determine responsibilities and identify the perpetrators of throwing stones and bottles and firearm shots”, having been again threatened and the target of attempts at aggression. .
“At this moment, several stones and glass bottles were thrown, and, when opening the gate of the property where the party was taking place, a group of about ten individuals fanned a breed dog pitbull and advanced in a joint effort to attack the police on the spot. In view of this attitude, it was necessary for the police elements to fire 3 shots into the air from the Shot Gun, with rubber berries, to disperse the group, and the attempts of aggression against the agents of authority resulted in the interception of four individuals, aged between between 19 and 40, who were arrested “.
Three of the detainees were in need of hospital treatment, all of whom were discharged after about 1h30 after being admitted to the Hospital in Elvas.
Detainees will learn about enforcement measures this Monday.
