Qantas Frequent Flyer hides points in Airbnb points

This is where most passengers would do anything, and now there's a new way that frequent flyers can get Qantas first-class seats at ridiculous rates.

Qantas has just revealed the details of his latest frequent flyer – first-class seats disguised as a list of 20 accommodations on Airbnb.

From today, and during the next two weeks, the Qantas Frequent Flyer Team registers as an Airbnb guest and secretly publishes first and second class seats on the accommodation site.

Frequent frequent flyers who discover the ads will be able to access significantly discounted seats – which can only be booked via points – including two first class seats from Melbourne to Los Angeles for 50,000 Qantas points, normally 144,000 per seat, or two business class seats from Sydney in London for 50,000 Qantas points, normally 128,000 in place.

Qantas says it will hide dozens of flights to destinations including London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Santiago, with listings in pairs and groups of four.

Secret discount lists are the latest incarnation of Qantas' partnership with Airbnb, which allowed frequent flyers to earn points on Airbnb bookings, as well as on hosting, from 2016.

And it follows the announcement of Qantas last week that it would launch a Points Plane – an entire plane dedicated to frequent flyers traveling on points.

THE QUOTAS TO LOOK FOR

"Visit the house" to see where you sleep, dine and relax in front of a movie and meet the hosts (your personal Qantas cabin) who will take care of you – they love taking care of loyal travelers.

Like all Airbnb properties it is necessary to respect the rules of the house because there are no parties or smoking allowed and you will need a passport!

HOW DOES IT WORK

• Qantas frequent flyers look for the secret Qantas Frequent Flyer list on the Airbnb website.

• When a member identifies a secret list, click on request to book.

• Secret listings include images of Qantas lounges and airplanes and include information on flight details, destination and Qantas points required to secure a booking.

• Upon receipt of a membership application from a member, a representative of the Qantas Frequent Flyer team will contact you to confirm the Frequent Flyer number and the balance of the necessary points.

• Once the information has been verified, a Qantas customer service agent will book the flights (and the $ 20 entry fee will be refunded).
