The American company Qualcomm, in the context of the summit Snapdragon Tech Summit 2018, officially presented its new mobile chipset, Snapdragon 855, designed for use in next-generation smartphones and providing them with integrated support for 5G networks.
As noted in the company, Snapdragon 855 will be the first mobile platform available on the market that provides support for fifth generation networks (5G). The first smartphone to be equipped with this processor will be the new flower at the eyelet of the South Korean company Samsung Electronics, which will be available in the first half of next year.
Details on its new processor, Qualcomm does not drive, but reveals some of its details:
- 5G Snapdragon X50 Modem
- Support for private band below 6 GHz and millimeter band based on Qualcomm QTM052 antenna module with integrated RF transceiver, RF radio module and antenna elements
- Fourth generation integrated neural module
- 7nm process technology
- True 4K HDR video support
- Support for the new Sonic Sensor Fingerprint 3D scanner integrated into the displays
