Queen Elizabeth she could go weeks without seeing her husband, prince Philip, according to a new book called “Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait”.

Apparently, the coexistence between the two became scarce when the Duke of Edinburgh retired in 2017, according to an excerpt from the new book and obtained by the Daily Mail.

However, author Gyles Brandreth reported that the couple also kept in touch during those seasons by speaking “regularly” on the phone.

According to the book, the queen understood that her relationship with Philip of Edinburgh might seem strange to some, however, he preferred to do the things he enjoyed with his days.

It was only five years after his retirement that the monarch’s husband passed away in April 2021. The same book mentions that Queen Elizabeth was determined to be by her husband’s side when he passed away, because when the pandemic broke out in 2020, it began to thank your marriage in very different ways.

Apparently during the pandemic and quarantine, the couple who had been married for 73 years began spending more time together in Scotland and at Windsor Castle.
