Queensland boys and 10-year-olds drive NSW in 4WD

Police are looking for three teenagers and a 10-year-old child who has driven an off-road vehicle 1000 km from Rockhampton in northern Queensland in NSW.

Queensland police believe that a 14-year-old boy, two 13-year-old boys and a 10-year-old girl took a 2004 Nissan Silver Patrol in the early hours of Sunday before driving south.

The group packed fishing rods, cash and one of the children left a note to his family who said he would leave.

The officials want to talk to the children after the four-wheel drive was seen at a service station in Banana, in northern Queensland, at 4:45 am, when the petrol was stolen.

The witnesses said that the car's driver left and filled the vehicle before leaving without paying.

The car was last seen traveling through Glen Innes, north of NSW, earlier this afternoon.
