Houston rapper, Big Pokeyhas died after collapsing while performing in a bar in the town of Beaumont, Texas.
As can be seen in a video circulating on social networks, the singer, whose first name is Milton Powellpassed out while performing one of his songs, falling backwards completely motionless.
The owner of the bar has stated that Beaumont police were on the premises and were able to offer help “instantly” while the rest of the emergency services came there to transfer him to the nearest hospital.
“He was well loved by his family, his friends and his loyal fans. Big Pokey will always be ‘The toughest hole in the trash!'”expressed the rapper’s publicist, referring to his first album, in a statement in which he also indicated that his death occurred on Sunday, the day after suffering the collapse.
Artists like Good B have expressed their condolences at the sudden death of Big Pokey: “I was not prepared for this. One of the most naturally talented artists in the city. He was easy to love and hard to hate.”expressed the rapper on his social networks.
