Retail breaks down significantly in October

Berlin German retailers posted less in October than in the previous month. Their revenue fell by 1.9 percent to September, as the Federal Statistical Office announced on Friday. Price-adjusted (real), there was also a decline of 1.9 percent. Compared to October 2018, business increased by 0.8 percent in real terms. From January to October, German retail sales increased by 2.8 percent in real terms and 3.4 percent more in nominal terms than in the same period of the previous year.
