Review: Equilibrium. On the connection between creativity and madness – Simon Kyaga, Jonas Mattsson

Nwhen humanity makes ground-breaking discoveries, when new ideologies are formulated and when the most touching, innovative poetry and art is created – then it is not reason and normality that rule, then there is madness behind the helm.

Now, “madness” is not a word that psychiatry likes to use, neither for mental illness nor for what are called “personality disorders”. Yet madness is exactly what this is supposed to be about, the word that is both positive (“I’m crazy about you”) and negative (“you’re absolutely crazy”).
