For several hours now, many rumors have been circulating about the next Call of Duty. The title expected for the end of 2020, without further details, would be the continuation of the Black Ops narrative axis and would be called Black Ops: Cold War.

The Black Ops: Cold War rumor seems to be confirming little by little since according to sources of VGC, Call of Duty: Warzone is the perfect place to teaser the next Call of Duty production. The opening of the bunkers, echoing the Cold War, would not be trivial.
Last night Okami, a Twitter user who had previously shared information about Call of Duty: Warzone, unveiled what would appear to be the title of Call of Duty 2020 through an original tweet covering the cover from the very first Call of Duty: Black Ops. According to Okami therefore, the title will be called Black Ops: Cold War, will move away from the futuristic directions taken by Black Ops III & IIII and will take place during the Cold War. Information which was then underlined by Eurogamer. Indeed, according to the British site, this leak was also confirmed by their own sources.
Leaks which obviously echo rumors shared last year by journalists from Kotaku. According to Jason Schreier, therefore, the 2020 episode would no longer be directed by Sledgehammer and Raven Software following tensions between the studios, but indeed by Treyarch, the developer behind the Call of Duty: Black Ops saga. Before Treyarch took over, Sledgehammer and Raven Software worked hand in hand to design a Call of Duty taking place in Vietnam during the Cold War. It would seem that Treyarch is recovering the assets of this episode in order to design the campaign mode of this famous Black Ops: Cold War.
That’s not all, the bunkers of Call of Duty: Warzone, the Battle Royale mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which is responsible for making connections between future episodes of the license, have recently opened their doors. Several internet users think that the opening of these bunkers – reminiscent of the Cold War – would then tease the continuation of the events of the series.
Obviously, even if all this agrees, all this information is to be taken with big tweezers since none of the rumors above have been officialized by the main concerned. We will therefore have to be patient, hoping that Activision will reveal more information about this Call of Duty 2020 in the days or weeks to come.
