“The missile did not reach kyiv, the air defenders shot it down as it approached the capital,” Popko explained before ensuring that there were no casualties or major damage in the capital.
Ruslan Kravchenkoregional governor of the central Kiev region, explained that the Russian missiles ended up in a field between settlements and had damaged five private houses and several commercial buildings in the area.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported in a statement that its defenses had shot down 19 Iranian-made “Shahed” drones of the 31 launched by Russia last morning against the southern and eastern regions of the country.
