Russia’s anti-aircraft defenses are linked to Saturday’s catastrophes of Russian planes and helicopters, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuri Ihnat said on Sunday. The machines fell in Russia’s Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine.
According to the Suspilne portal, Ihnat answered in the affirmative to the question of whether there was a connection between the crashes of Russian machines and Russian anti-aircraft defense.
– It seems that is right. Black day of aviation, they (Russians-ed.) admitted it – replied the spokesman of the Ukrainian military aviation.
Ihnat: The Russians lost five machines
As reported by the Russian BBC, Ihnat also said that the Russians lost five machines on Saturday: three helicopters and two military planes.
It was reported on Saturday that The Russians lost two Mi-8 military helicopters and two Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft. The crews of the helicopters and the Su-34 were killed, the fate of the Su-35 crew was not reported.

According to the BBC, the crash of one Mi-8 helicopter and a Su-34 fighter-bomber was officially confirmed in Russia. Earlier, Moscow claimed that the helicopter crashed due to an engine fire.
