Airline Ryanair plans to cut fewer jobs after a large part of its workforce has agreed to pay cuts.
Initially, approximately 3,000 jobs would be lost.
Almost all pilots (97 percent) and more than 90 percent of the cabin crew agreed to a salary cut. The director of the Irish airline confirmed this on Friday.
The Irish company previously warned that one in five employees would be laid off if a large part of the workforce did not agree to a 20 percent salary cut.
Ryanair has been hit hard by travel restrictions due to the corona virus. The company carried about half a million passengers between the beginning of April and the end of June, compared to 42 million in the same quarter last year. So the Irish came out a loss of 185 million euros.
