Seoul The falling Chippreise have the profit of the technology giant Samsung significantly diminished in the third quarter of 2019. The surplus has declined by 52 percent year on year to 6.3 trillion won (4.9 billion euros), the South Korean company said on Thursday.
Since the end of last year, the leading provider of smartphones, memory chips and televisions is struggling with the consequences of a weaker chip market. Among other things, an oversupply and also the trade dispute between the US and China burden the industry. In the business with displays and smartphones, Samsung has to deal with growing competition from China.
