Madrid, Dec 12 (EFE) .- The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has reaffirmed this Saturday his commitment to Universal Health Coverage to guarantee access to diagnosis and treatment for all people “wherever they live and for all their pathologies” .
It is the message that the head of the Executive has posted today on his Twitter account coinciding with the commemoration of the International Day of Universal Health Coverage, which Sánchez has described as a “fundamental right.”
“On the International Day of Universal Health Coverage, we reaffirm our commitment to this fundamental right to guarantee access to diagnosis and treatment for all people, wherever they live and for all their pathologies,” the President of the Government has written.
This day, which is commemorated under the slogan “Health for all: We protect all people”, calls for investment in health systems that “protect us all” with the aim of “putting an end to this crisis and forging a future more healthy”.
On December 12, 2012, the United Nations General Assembly approved a resolution urging countries to accelerate progress towards achieving Universal Health Coverage and for five more years this date was proclaimed as the International Day of this right. EFE
