Finally, on the night of Sunday and then a day very tense that included clashes between different groups and a performance by the Police, the situation in the Sarmiento Park seems to have returned to calm following an agreement arrived at by the parties in conflict.
It all started Saturday, when the Municipality of Córdoba decided to hoist the flag LGBTIQ+ on the mast located in the area of Dante, as a way of adhering to the Pride Day that is celebrated this Sunday.
The decision was taken with reluctance on the part of a group of people, led by exveteranos of Falkland, who tried to take it out to re-hoist the argentine flag.
Finally, after a first intervention of the security forces, the badge remained in that place.
But, this Sunday, the situation got out of hand when they arrived there a larger group of people with the same goal and found themselves with those who defended its lifting.
Pushing, fighting, scuffling with the Police, insults and even a marble plaque placed by the commune that was destroyed in the midst of the chaos. That was the picture past the 17 and all seemed to get on track to a long-term confrontation.
Finally, we opened a channel of dialogue between the parties in conflict and a compromise was reached: the flag LGBTIQ remains on that place where it was placed until midnight this Sunday.
The Monday, from 8.30, will be hoisted the argentine flag was up before the initiative of the Municipality.
Transcended, though not from official sources, that there is also a project to install in the vicinity of that place a mast where to flutter the flag of Pride and the ability to create in the area an artistic and cultural center.
