Sporadic artillery fire is reportedly still echoing in the Sudanese capital, despite the ceasefire signed on May 20, 2023 in Jeddah. However, residents in Khartoum said the fighting had died down.

“While the fighting in Khartoum appears to have been less intense than in recent days, the facilitators presented the parties with reports indicating that both sides violated the Agreement,” the statement continued.
