"You know, I am an actor. I should be allowed to play any person, or any tree, or any animal because that is my job and the requirements of my job," Scarlett shared. "I feel like it 's a trend in my business and it needs to happen for various social reasons, yet it gets uncomfortable when it affects the art because I feel like it should be free of restrictions."
Scarlett‘S statement comes after she dropped out of the film Rub and Tug after she faced backlash for taking a role as a transgender man.
This isn’t the first time Scarlett Johansson faced backlash over one of her role. Scarlett was criticized for taking the lead role in Ghost in The Shell, when many believed it should have gone to an Asian actor.
