The prime minister of Scotlandthe nationalist Humza Yousafrevealed this Monday that his in-laws have been “trapped” in Gazawhere they were on a family visit when war broke out this weekend.
“As many of you know, my wife is Palestinian. Her mother and father, my in-laws, who live in Dundeehave been in Gaza and, I’m afraid, are currently trapped,” the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP, in English).
Yousaf reported that the Israeli authorities have transferred the Palestinians who must leave Gaza because it is going to be “razed,” but his relatives, who were visiting his father-in-law’s 92-year-old mother, have not been able to leave the area for now.
“Despite the best efforts of the British Foreign Office, “No one can guarantee them safe passage anywhere,” added the chief minister, who expressed “unequivocal condemnation” of the attack. Hamas which has left more than 800 dead in Israel.
“We don’t know if my mother-in-law and father-in-law, who have nothing to do with Hamas or any terrorist attack, like most people in Gaza, will survive the next night or not,” Yousaf added.
