However, the production company surprised fans by revealing that the show has been updated for season 3. Yes, you heard that right. The adventures of Ms. Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and everyone else will continue to grace our screens for a long, long time. The long-awaited announcement was made during a presentation of the show at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

According to Variety, the third season will focus primarily on Robert Jordan’s fourth book, “Shadows Rises.” Showrunner Rafe Judkins shared his excitement about the extension, saying the entire team is “very excited” to work on season three. He also thanked Amazon for giving him the opportunity to adapt Shadow Rise, one of his favorite books in the Wheel of Time series.
“I’m so excited that we’ll be working on a third season of The Wheel of Time. Shadows Rising has always been my favorite book in the series, so being able to bring it to TV and introduce new audiences to the things that got me started It’s an honor to just fall in love with the stories of these books, and I’ve been working on it since I first got on the show years ago,” Variety quoted Judkins as saying.

The production company renewed the show for a second season on May 21, six months before the first season premiered on the streaming platform.
The show follows the journey of Ms. Moiraine, a member of a powerful all-female organization called Aes Sedai, and five young men and women who embark on a journey full of magic and darkness. The journey is to find out who the Dragon Reborn is and how he will help make the world a better place. The series saw Rosamund Pike play the role of Mrs. Moirana, while Jossa Stradowski played the role of Randall.
