Twelve of the 35 wounded were in serious condition, Capocasa said.

The ages of the victims were not immediately given. It was not immediately clear how many people were inside when the party escaped or the club's maximum capacity.

An adolescent told ANSA that he discovered that at least one of the emergency exits was blocked when he tried to escape. The report states that the authorities were investigating whether emergency exits worked.
