Moscow In the future, more private vans will dock at the International Space Station ISS. Two US astronauts installed on Wednesday in an outdoor use another adapter for docking such flights. Live images of the US space agency Nasa showed how the astronauts Andrew Morgan and Nick Hague after six and a half hours in space returned to the space station more than 400 kilometers above the ground.

According to NASA, the spaceships “Starliner” of the US airline are to be attached to the adapter in the future Boeing and dock the space capsules of the company SpaceX. The jetty had been brought to the outpost of humanity only a few weeks ago. The astronauts connected the adapter, which resembled a large ring, with power and data cables and attached a camera to it.

The US wants to send in the future again manned flights to the ISS. In recent years, they have relied on the Russian Soyuz spaceships that flew crews to the ISS and back to Earth. Supply flights were also handled from Russia. In 2011, the Americans had discontinued the flights with the Space Shuttle.

SpaceX “Dragon” Space Freighters have repeatedly flown to the ISS. The first flight was over half a year ago. By contrast, launches of the “Starliner” were repeatedly postponed. NASA wants to open the ISS for the commercial business with the docklock lock. NASA had recently announced that from next year, space tourists will also travel to the station.

Sergei Krikaljov, Executive Director of manned flights at the Russian space agency Roskosmos, believes that the space station will continue to operate for another ten years. He said before the Tass Agency's outreach, “The partners are now discussing the possibility of extending operating time by 2028, possibly in the long term to 2030.” First, there were plans for the 20-year-old ISS to operate until 2024.
