No total lockdown on Srefidensi, but closed safety zone

In connection with the ceremonies around the 46th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Suriname, a security zone will be established around the Kerkplein, the Independence Square and the surrounding area. This area is closed to the public during official activities. No persons are admitted except for the invitees and specially registered persons. It is also not allowed to be in the zone without permission.

The total lockdown due to national holidays will expire before November 25, 2021. The partial lockdown, the curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. will remain in force! The entertainment area known as Waka Pasi and its extension, the Van Roseveltkade, are located in the established safety zone on that day and will therefore be closed to local traffic on November 24, 2021 from 6 p.m.

The entrance gates of the Palmentuin will be closed to the public from November 24, 2021, 6 pm to November 25, 2021, 2 pm. The security zone will be lifted on November 25 from 2 p.m. and the area will be open to the public.
