Star Wars Battlefront 3: Bad News For Those Who Expect The Game

The information comes from renowned leaker Tom Henderson. According to him, Electronic Arts would not have given DICE the green light to develop a new Star Wars Battlefront. The reason ? Producing a game based on the Star Wars license would be too expensive and it would take 20% more sales than another license to generate equivalent revenue. The DICE studio is therefore currently at work on a brand new Battlefield, which could be released as early as 2023 according to Henderson.. Of course, part of the studio remains at the bedside of Battlefield 2042, which just had a complicated launch because of its technical condition.

So this is bad news for those who are waiting for a new multiplayer Star Wars game. Star Wars Battlefront 2, released in 2017, has been shelved by EA and is no longer receiving any content updates. The American publisher does not abandon the license, however, and is preparing several games emphasizing a narrative single-player experience.. A sequel to Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is – a priori – on the program in particular, the game from Respawn Entertainment having exceeded EA’s expectations from a commercial point of view.

Other publishers also have Star Wars games in the works: Ubisoft and Massive are working on an open world game, Aspyr Media on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, or Zynga on the free-to-play Star Wars Hunters. And according to recent rumors, Quantic Dream was working on a certain Star Wars Eclipse.
