Starship Troopers-based co-op game coming to PC in 2023 – Gaming – News

Game developer Offworld Industries is working on a game with the Starship Troopers license. Starship Troopers: Extermination will be a co-op first person shooter in which twelve players must defend bases against hordes of gigantic insect-like aliens.

According to the Steam store page of the game, players are in squads of four seeded, with a total of twelve in a match. The squads must defend their base, ‘objectives complete’, collect resources and ‘kill every bug you see’. Gamers can choose one of three different classes, build defenses, and through leveling unlock new equipment and skills. Other elements the page mentions are “large-scale battles”, and a “ping system”, which makes it easy to communicate with teammates.

Starship Troopers: Extermination does not have a release date yet. There is, however, an early access period, although it is not known when it will start. Furthermore, only the release year 2023 is mentioned.

Game studio Offworld Industries is also known for Squad and Post Scriptum. The founders of the studio started out as mod makers for Battlefield 2 and were responsible for Project Reality: BF2. StarShip Troopers is a 1997 science fiction action film directed by Paul Verhoeven.
