Switch to vegetable coloring

In “clean beauty”, hair dyes are also going green. To meet the demand of eco-responsible consumers, cosmetics brands do not hesitate to rework their products. Natural coloring is the perfect alternative to chemical dyeing, which has long been decried. The latter consists of synthetic pigments mixed with an oxidant, often ammonia or ethanolamine, known to be endocrine disruptors and can also be a source of allergies.

To change color without risk to health, healthy alternatives exist: vegetable or mineral coloring. The first is made from dyes extracted from plants. The best known example being henna. Mineral coloring, on the other hand, incorporates stabilizing elements that allow better control of the result. Free of chemical ingredients, it does not penetrate the hair fiber, which limits its breakage. Thus, in addition to coloring, it acts as a treatment that hydrates, nourishes and protects the lengths.

A priori, all women (and all men) can use natural coloring. This method is particularly suitable for people allergic to conventional chemical coloring, pregnant women or people who have undergone heavy drug treatments such as chemotherapy. It can reproduce many colors provided that they exist in nature (brown, chestnut, chocolate, mahogany, ebony).

Aveda at Esthecare

The Esthécare expert center has set its sights on Aveda. Founded in 1978 by hairdresser Horst Rechelbacher, this American brand is committed to taking care of the planet and consumers. Thus, it uses recycled packaging, while the products are sourced and manufactured in a sustainable way. Aveda hair colors contain at least 92% ingredients of natural origin. There are many plant pigments that make it possible to dye hair, even white, without attacking it.

Available from 600 DH, these pro colorings[1]pose an exclusive combination of protective oils (organic sunflower, castor, jojoba, coconut and babassu oil). A nourishing cocktail, made without ammonia, paraphenylene diamine, PEG or parabens, which strengthens the hair and makes it shiny. Aveda gentle formulas are ideal for sensitive, allergic or sick people as well as pregnant women.
