Tamara Tyasmara Seeks Justice as Appeal in Dante’s Case Rejected

The legal battle surrounding the death of Tamara Tyasmara’s child, Dante, continues with a recent setback.

The Jakarta High Court has rejected an appeal filed by Yudha Arfandi, the defendant convicted in Dante’s death. This means the original verdict of 20 years imprisonment stands, a decision which brought relief to some but remains far short of the death sentence demanded by prosecutors.

Speaking recently in Tebet, South Jakarta,

Tamar Tyasmara expressed her continuing pursuit of justice. "The appeal has finished, and while it is positive in some ways, the 20-year sentence is far from the immediate justice we seek," she shared, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

Tomasz Tyasmara revealed the next step in this legal journey: the Public Prosecutor (JPU) is currently appealing to the Supreme Court (MA). This decision signals continued determination to achieve the maximum penalty for the crime. "We are still struggling, deeply affected by this tragedy, and we are relying on the legal system to bring appropriate justice for Dante," she added.

The case has garnered considerable public attention, with many expressing support for Tamara Tyasmara’s unwavering pursuit of justice for her son. While the legal process continues, the case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of crime and the ongoing search for answers and accountability.
