Ireland Provides Additional Aid to Gaza Amidst Ongoing Crisis

Ireland Provides Additional €20 Million in Relief for Palestinians in Gaza

Ireland has announced an additional €20 million in humanitarian aid for Gaza, bringing its total contribution to over €63 million since the start of 2023. This comes as the Irish government continues to call for peace and the return of all hostages following the recent ceasefire agreement in the region.

Tánaiste Simon Harris, who also serves as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian assistance during a critical time for Palestinians.

Yemen Humanitarian Crisis: An Overview

“The ceasefire and hostage release deal offers a moment of hope for Palestinians and Israelis,” he said.

“This announcement underscores Ireland’s commitment to ensuring a significant surge in humanitarian aid into Gaza at this critical time. UNRWA is vital in delivering healthcare, social services, and education for over 300,000 children in Gaza. We urge the international community to join Ireland in supporting UNRWA and help bring relief to the people of Gaza.”

Beyond the financial assistance, Ireland has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to secure the release of all hostages.

The significant aid package reflects Ireland’s concern for the humanitarian situation in Gaza, which has been devastated by the conflict. The Irish government has voiced its concerns about the impact on civilians, particularly women and children who have suffered the brunt of the fighting.

The Irish government expressed grave concern about Israel’s new legislation targeting UNRWA, urging Israel to reconsider these measures and calling on other governments to support UNRWA’s crucial work. The proposal echoes similar calls from nationalist-co’>
