Tehran Oman's Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi met with his Iranian counterpart Mohammed Jawad Sarif. Bin Alawi visited Iran on Saturday. Their talks were considered as a possible attempt to settle a conflict between Iran and Britain over tankers. But neither Oman nor Iran has confirmed that mediation attempts are underway.

Iran had raised a tanker under the British flag in the Strait of Hormuz this month. Previously, an Iranian supertanker had been confiscated from Gibraltar.
