Marvel Studios has cast Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany to play Jennifer Walters, better known as She-Hulk, in the character series prepared by Disney +. Maslany played Sarah Manning on the series Orphan Black from 2013 to 2017, with five seasons.
She-Hulk joins upcoming MCU series like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki. Marvel Studios announced the She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight series for the Disney + platform in August 2019. WandaVision recently appeared in a Disney + promotion, promising that the series would arrive on the platform later this year.
Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo shared a welcome message to the actress on his Twitter account, sharing his excitement at her joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the comics She Hulk / Jennifer Walters received a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner after sustaining an injury. This gave her a softer version of the Hulk’s powers while allowing her to maintain her emotional and intellectual intelligence.
According to a report, production will begin in Atlanta in early 2021. Kat Coiro will direct the She-Hulk pilot episode and will also serve as an executive producer. Previously Coiro directed multiple episodes of television shows such as Shameless, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Modern Family.
The series will be developed by Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty) and will star Tatiana Maslany. She-Hulk will premiere on Disney + and there is currently no release date.
