Tesla in China, the world’s largest market for electric cars, generates about a fifth of its sales. It has been operating a plant in Shanghai since 2019.

Tesla in China calls 55,000 vehicles for service due to technical problems. It is a similar event as in the USA, where the call will affect almost half a million Tesla cars.

According to the Chinese market regulator, published online, the call concerns 20,000 Model S vehicles and 35,000 Model 3 vehicles. In the case of the Model S, there is a risk of the bonnet opening.

For the same reasons, Tesla is calling in 475,000 vehicles in the USA – 356,309 Model 3 vehicles and 119,009 Model S vehicles.
