The 17th National Film Festival with neighbors is coming

The Fundación Cine con Necinos confirmed the development “exclusively online” of the seventeenth edition of its national independent film festival. More than twenty fiction films will make up the Competition Section, the Parallel Section and the Guest Section of this federal meeting that annually brings together independent filmmakers from all over the country, but which this year will be developed exclusively in its virtual version. The festival has the endorsement of INCAA, Municipality of Saladillo, Argentores, DAC, SAGAI, the Academy of Cinematographic Sciences and Arts, Midú Junco Producciones and numerous entities and associations of the national film industry. The organizing filmmakers, Julio Midú and Fabio Junco, anticipated the list of feature films that will compete for the statuettes for Best Production, Best Screenplay and Best Film, selected by researcher and movie buff Hayrabet Alacahan. In addition, other fiction films were programmed for the Parallel Section (Non-Competitive) and for the Guest Films Section. Almost sixty independent production fiction feature films were registered to participate in the 2020 preselection. Among those chosen, productions from cities in the Province of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Mendoza, Neuquén, Jujuy, La Pampa, San Luis, Entre Rivers and Santa Cruz. The organizers anticipate that in the next few hours the new website will be officially presented from where the brand new online version will expand, a new virtual space for exploration. They will be intense days of special screenings and master classes with professionals from the film industry and with free and open access from Tuesday 03 to Saturday 07 November.

The films in the Competition Section will be evaluated by Carmen Guarini (Renowned filmmaker, anthropologist and teacher / Member of the DAC Gender Commission), Osvaldo Santoro (Renowned actor and writer / Secretary General at SAGAI), Norma Argentina (San Luis actress from greatest national and international renown), Asunción Rodríguez (Head of the Jujuy Mobile Cinema,), Cecilia Fiel (Filmmaker, screenwriter, teacher and producer), Andrea Álvarez (Distributor, Managing Partner at Batata Films), Hernán Gaffet (Filmmaker and screenwriter ), Fernando Salem (Filmmaker, screenwriter and producer) and Mauricio Minotti (Filmmaker, screenwriter and producer / Member of the Board of Directors of the Fundación Cine con Necinos).
