A total of eight autonomous communities are at risk for heat, storms and rain this Wednesday, a day with possible strong local thunderstorms in the south of the Iberian system and the Catalan Pyrenees, as well as very high temperatures in areas of the southern half of the peninsula and the Canary Islands, according to the prediction of the Meteorology Statal Agency (AEMET).
Specific, Granada, Huelva, Ávila, Salamanca, Albacete, Cuenca, Cáceres, El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma, Tenerife and Lanzarote will be on notice for heatwhich will rise to important in Madrid, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Córdoba, Jaén, Seville, Ciudad Real, Toledo and Badajoz. Besides, Teruel, Barcelona, Girona and Lleida will be at risk for rains and storms.
In much of the country, the little cloudy skies and without precipitation, although cloudy intervals are forecast in the north of Galicia, the Cantabrian Sea, the Strait area and Melilla, as well as clouds of evolution in the interior of the eastern peninsular third, with the possibility of some Scattered showers and thunderstorms in mountain areaswhich will be more likely in the south of the Iberian system and the Catalan Pyrenees, where they could be locally strong.
In Canary Islands low cloudy skies are expected or clear with cloudy intervals on the northern coasts, with cloudy intervals of medium clouds on the eastern islands and Tenerife during the first half of the day.
The haze will mainly affect midlands and highlands. Temperatures will increase in the Canary Islands, with 34-36ºC in inland areas of all the islands, being able to reach 37ºC in Gran Canaria y Fuerteventura.
