The investigation into the murder that occurred in Huy on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday has just made significant progress. Indeed, the alleged perpetrator of the fatal stab wounds was intercepted on Thursday. At the time of writing these lines, he was heard by the police.
As a reminder, the dramatic events took place on the public highway, at the level of the Porte des Aveugles, on the left bank of the Meuse. Around 1 a.m., the victim, born in 1986, was at the pedestrian crossing in the company of another person, when she crossed paths with her attacker.
What really happened? The circumstances of the tragedy remain unclear for the moment, and the investigation will have to determine it. However, it would seem that a first altercation had taken place earlier in the evening between the attacker and the victim who obviously knew each other. After being treated in the emergency room of the CHRH, the attacker would have set out to find his future victim in town.
According to the medical examiner who descended on the scene of the tragedy in the middle of the night, the 30-year-old died of a blow from a knife to the level of the heart.
The suspect, a 40-year-old Hutois, was identified thanks to the testimony of the person who accompanied the victim. Logically, he should be referred to the Liège prosecutor’s office during the day on Friday.
