A nearly 3.5-meter alligator smashed a kitchen window in Clearwater, Florida, terrorizing residents as he left a trail of rubble, police said.
The Clearwater Police Department has posted photos and videos on Twitter of the graceless gator showing his toothy smile in the middle of a couple of upturned chairs, the New York Post reported.
It was still dark when the massive beast broke into the kitchen through the windows of the ground floor of the house, the department said in a tweet.
Apparently disappointed by the scarce reserves that he found in the kitchen, the alligator proceeded to launch a blast of a bottle of wine worthy of a Hollywood star.
"The red liquid in the video is wine, not blood," the local police tweeted, alongside footage showing a trapper trying to contain the furious reptile.
Resident Mary Wischhusen, 77, was going to the bathroom around 3:30 am when she heard a major accident and discovered her unwelcome guest, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
"All I had was a vision of a huge head," said Wischhusen. "A big head looking at me saying & # 39; Hey! & # 39;"
The older woman locked herself in her bedroom as officers and hunters arrived.
"I don't know why he wanted my red wine, but he got my red wine," said Wischhusen of the "gator".
