Malcom Glazer, American owner of the Old Trafford club, has put Manchester United up for sale and the English press reports that David Beckham, former glory of the club and owner of Inter Miami, of the North American Football League (MLS), is particularly interested.
The former footballer, trained at the Red Devils, is available to hold talks with an eventual investor as a partner, since he does not have the capital to go it alone, for the purchase of one of the main Premier League clubs.
The information was advanced by the newspaper ‘The Times’, which recalls Beckham’s sentimental connection with the club owned by Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes, which he represented between 1995 and 2003, later transferring to Real Madrid.
Several investors contacted David Beckham in recent years, however, talks never came to fruition.
However, it now appears that the former England captain, now 47, is available to rejoin the club at the top, after the Americans announced their intention to leave the club, 17 years after they arrived.
