The London Metropolitan Police has opened an investigation for “several assumptions sexual crimes“against the actor Russell Brand following publications in the media.
Is about “not recent” accusationsas reported by the London Police in a statement that refers to the joint investigation of the Channel 4 program Dispatches and ‘The Sunday Times’ that has led to “the Metropolitan Police having received several complaints for sexual crimes in London.
“We have also received several complaints about sexual crimes perpetrated in other places in the country which will also be investigated,” the police force explained. The investigation will be carried out by detectives from the Central Command for Specialized Crime led by Superintendent Andy Furphy.
“We continue to encourage anyone who believes they have been a victim of a sexual crime to contact us. no matter how much time has passed“, the Police have highlighted. “We understand that it may be a difficult step to take and I want to guarantee you that we have a team of agents specialized for advice and support,” added the police statement, reported by the British press.
The journalistic investigation reveals accusations from four women against Brand for violations and abuses against them. One of them was a minor at the time of the events. Brand have denied the facts and assure that all relationships were consensual.
