The chairman of the Russian Duma threatens the West: the supply of weapons to Ukraine will cause a “global catastrophe”

On his Telegram channel, he warned that US and NATO support for Ukraine was allegedly leading the world to a “terrible war.”

“If Washington and NATO countries supply weapons to hit civilian cities and try to seize our territories, as they threaten, it will lead to countermeasures with more powerful weapons,” he was quoted as saying.

However, the only country currently invading another country is Russia. Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

The Kremlin refuses to call its bloody aggression in Ukraine by its real name, saying since the start of the war that it is conducting a “special military operation” aimed, among other things, at “denazifying” and “demilitarizing” Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the war, the Russian army has been targeting not only military, but also civilian infrastructure, and many Ukrainians have been killed and homeless as a result of Russian aggression.

In response to Russian aggression, Western countries cut off cooperation with Russia and impose sanctions on it. The West supports Ukraine with both humanitarian and military support.
