BEIJING (Reuters) – A three-way Chinese alliance could hit the world's most popular instant messaging applications, particularly WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, according to media reports.

This tripartite platform is still being tested for the development and software departments of Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.
The platform will not consume the phone battery or Internet data and will not require any external application, but will rely only on the Bluetooth technology of these phones and a transfer rate of up to 20 Mbps per second.
The report pointed out that such an application would be a blow to the famous instant messaging applications like "WhatsApp" and "Facebook Messenger".
