LThe Attorney General’s Office confirmed the capture of Harby Damián Rodríguez Díaz, a patrolman of the National Police investigated for the death of the law student Javier Humberto Ordóñez, which occurred on September 9 in Bogotá.
In the same way, they reported that the patrolman Juan Camilo Lloreda Cubillos, also linked to the events, was present in the prosecutor’s bunker yesterday, along with his lawyer, once he learned that there was an arrest warrant against him.

According to the attorney general Francisco Barbosa, a prosecutor from the Special Directorate against Human Rights Violations will present the two men before a guarantee control judge, and will charge them with the crimes of torture and aggravated homicide. Similarly, he will request an assurance measure in a prison.
The Attorney General stressed that in less than a week important advances have been made in the investigation (on Ordóñez’s death, on September 9) and affirmed that the team of investigators was strengthened to present those responsible for this death in front of the judges.

After the Prosecutor’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office, in the middle of the investigation that is being carried out, took actions against the police officers allegedly involved in the death of Javier Ordóñez, President Iván Duque assured that this is a sign that the institutionality works in against those who dishonor the uniform.
“I am pleased that the institutions are working, that the arrests of those who dishonored the uniform have taken place, but also that our Public Force continues to defend the national interest, always defending the national interest, because the institutions cannot be stigmatized, the responsibilities must be individualize them and do it in an exemplary manner, but what we Colombians cannot give up is to feel affection, joy, pride for those who always give their lives to protect citizens, ”said the president.
