On August 30th, Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games (Until Dawn) will open the Dark Pictures anthology with Man of Medan. This horror game will be the first in a long series that we should listen to regularly as the studio already has seven other games in mind.
In the columns of GameinformerPete Samuels and James Scalpello, Supermassive Games General Manager and Marketing Manager respectively, provided new information on the number of games planned for the Dark Pictures anthology and the pace of publication:
As we have said, the goal is to do two each year. We are almost done with this (Man of Medan) and we are still on the right track to exit the second in the same twelve month period. Its production is very advanced. The third is coming to the end of his narrative design phase and we will take it back with the actors in two weeks.
Also the design phase for the fourth and fifth has begun, and the study has "already in the head the stories of the horror for the sixth, seventh and eighth". It remains to be seen whether success will be at the rendezvous for Man of Medan. However, Supermassive will continue "until we tell them to stop". "It is our passion and we will never be without ideas"says Pete Samuels.
As a reminder, Man of Medan will follow five friends on a boat to track down a swallowed ship dating back to World War II. A journey that will quickly turn into a sinister adventure due to a storm. The player will therefore be subject to choices that could cause the death or survival of different characters. Everything can be played alone, but also in collaboration online or locally.
