The Miami Dolphins continued their purge by eliminating veteran receiver Danny Amendola, the team announced Friday.
The move saves the $ 6 million dolphins in the cap space.

Miami released the defensive wing Andre Branch and guard Ted Larsen on Thursday, saving over $ 9 million.
Amendola, 33, led the dolphins to receive last season with 575 yards out of 59 captures. He continued to show his hardness and ability to find open areas outside the dolphin slot.
Entering his eleventh season, Amendola had a good career after starting out as a free agent not designed by Texas Tech in 2008. He signed a two-year $ 12 million contract last March, leaving New England after five seasons.
Delfini liked Amendola and the leadership that led to the locker room, but did not see it as a long-term adaptation for a reconstruction team at its price. Instead, the dolphins seem ready to build around a young body of receivers that includes Albert Wilson, Kenny Stills and Jakeem Grant.
