The first infection with Corona in the Egyptian delegation to the Tokyo Olympics

The Corona virus has arrived at the Egyptian delegation participating in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, a member of the Egyptian Olympic Committee announced on Wednesday.

The coach of the Egyptian judo team participating in the expedition, the Dutch Giorgio Jeffzgiani, was infected with “Covid 19”.

The media attache of the Egyptian mission, Amr Selim, said that “a swab that was conducted for all residents of the Olympic Village in Tokyo on Wednesday showed a positive result for the foreign expert of the Dutch judo team, Giorgio Jeffzgiani.”

Selim added that the Dutch coach is responsible for training only two players, Mohamed Abdel Mawgoud and Mohamed Abdel Aal, and it was “confirmed that their smears were negative,” noting that the Egyptian Medical Committee “isolated the players and placed them under observation as a precaution.”

The media attaché pointed out that a French coach will arrive later in Tokyo to supervise the training of the players and the Egyptian judo champion Ramadan Darwish, who arrived in Tokyo on Wednesday.
